Marcia Harvey
Marcia Harvey is an African-American
author, more famous for being the ex-wife of comedy legend and TV host Steve
Harvey. The decision to stay clear from the gaze of the media, she has an
extremely private life. Steve could not get the success he's currently
enjoying, however they had been married 14 years. The real reasons behind the
couple's separation weren't revealed and rumors were always heard throughout
Hollywood. Many believe that it was due to Steve Harvey's shady ways and others
believe it was due as a result of his choice to pursue a comedy profession.
Steve Harvey dispersed her from his two daughters when she was pregnant with
their third child, which caused her to feel devastated. Despite the hardships
she has faced, she has made an excellent career in fashion design and writing.
Her books include 'Marcia: Eyes To The Soul', "Marcia Poems From The
Heart', and 'Marcia: Thoughts from My Mind'. The generosity of her character
has become an inspiration to her children. Marcia Harvey was born to an
African-American family. They did not have a lot of money. She began her career
at a department shop called "Saks Fifth Avenue". Steve was introduced
to her by a friend at their wedding reception. They were in love and were
married in the year 1980. Steve was employed as an insurance salesman the time
and the couple was blessed with twin girls in 1982. However, at that point
Steve began to become disillusioned by his work and decided to make an
entertainment career, especially stand-up comedy. This led to a lot of friction
between him and Marcia and later reports suggested they were about to separate
by the year 1990. Marcia Harvey was famous for her divorce from Steve Harvey
and marriage. While their divorce proceedings in 1994 were kept secret but it's
evident that Marcia Harvey was pregnant with their third child at the time they
fell apart. Marcia filed for divorce in 1993. Marcia was forced to file for
divorce by Steve Harvey's refusal to pay any alimony or child support following
her divorce.
