Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on the
26th of August, 2002) also known as Lil Tecca, is an American rapper and
singer. His 2019 single "Ransom" was his breakthrough single. The
song peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was released as
part of his first mixtape "We Love You Tecca" (2019), which reached
number 4 on US Billboard 200. The mixtape also contained the singles "Love
Me", "Did It Again" and "Did It Again". His debut
album"Virgo World" (2020) was released at the top of the Billboard
200 at number 10. It featured the Billboard Hot 100 chart-charting songs
"Dolly", as well as "When You Down". The second mixtape, We
Love You Tecca 2, was released in August 2021 which included "Repeat
It" and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe is the son of
Jamaican immigrants. He was born on August 26 2002 in Queens, New York City.
Sharpe was born in Queens' Springfield Gardens, and then moved to Cedarhurst on
Long Island. Sharpe had always hoped to join the NBA as a youngster however, at
the age of 12 Sharpe made the decision to pursue a career in music. Sharpe
attended Lawrence High School. Tecca was nine years of age when he started
rapping over his Xbox. One of their tracks about diss was uploaded to
SoundCloud some time ago, however it has since been deleted. At beginning, he
didn't have plans to begin an aspiring career in music, but instead was aspired
to be an NBA superstar. In his middle school years however, he began to become
bored with basketball and began taking music seriously. His first track to gain
some recognition, "Tectri", was made in collaboration with his pal,
Lil Gummybear, and was released in early 2017. Tecca also released
"Callin" as one of his early songs. His hit single
"Ransom," which was first posted to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade
YouTube channel on May 22 in 2019, started the meteoric rise of Tecca. It
reached the top spot at 4 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts and has been played
more than 900,000,000 times on Spotify and more than 300 million times on
YouTube.
